Figma is a design tool, and a very good one. If your actual goal is a working website, the design file is an intermediate artefact you may not need at all.

Figma is the right tool for a large amount of work, and this isn't an argument that it isn't. It's an argument that a design file is a means, and quite often people are producing one because that's the accepted process rather than because they need it.
The file is worth making when it's a shared artefact
If several people need to review before implementation, if a design system is being maintained, if a specialist designer is doing the work and handing it on — the file earns its place. It's a coordination device.
Skipping it in those cases costs you the coordination, which is expensive.
It's overhead when you're the only decision-maker
A founder redesigning their own landing page, a marketer building a campaign page, a developer who knows what they want. Here the file is a step you produce and then re-implement.
Generating the working page directly removes both the production and the translation. What you review is what you ship.
You can have both
Generating a real page early and designing on top of it is often better than designing from scratch, because you're refining something concrete rather than imagining it.
So this isn't a replacement so much as a different starting point — and one that suits people whose bottleneck is implementation rather than design.
Common questions
Is this a replacement for Figma?
No. Figma is a design tool with collaboration, prototyping and design systems. This produces working websites, which is a narrower goal.
When should I still use Figma?
Multi-person review, design system work, prototyping interactions, or any project where the design itself is a deliverable.
Can I use both together?
Yes, and it's a good pattern — generate a real page as the starting point, then refine in whichever tool suits.
Do I need design skills to use this instead?
You need to judge results rather than produce them, which is a much lower bar.
If nobody else needs to review the design file, try going straight to the page.
