Every tool in this category claims the same things. These are the four questions that actually separate them β ask them of us as readily as of anyone else.

Feature lists in this market are nearly identical and mostly unfalsifiable. These four questions have concrete answers, and the answers differ meaningfully between products.
What does it take as input?
Tools that start from a text prompt produce a new site that resembles your description. Tools that start from your URL produce a redesign of the site you have.
For a redesign specifically, the second matters a great deal: it decides whether your existing copy, product names and page structure survive, or whether you spend the afternoon re-entering them. Redesignr takes a URL.
What do you own at the end?
Ask whether you get exportable code or a page that only renders inside the vendor's hosting. This is the question with the longest tail, because it determines your cost of leaving.
A tool producing standard HTML, CSS or React leaves you with an asset. A tool producing a proprietary page leaves you with a subscription.
What happens after the first result?
First results are demos. What matters is whether the tool lets you converge β direct editing for small corrections, instruction-driven editing for larger ones β or whether your only lever is regenerating and hoping.
A tool with no editing layer is a slot machine, and it will waste more of your time than a slower tool that lets you fix things.
Common questions
Is there one best tool for everyone?
No. If you need a hosted site with no technical involvement, a builder is a better fit than a code generator. The criteria matter more than the ranking.
How should I test a tool before committing?
Run your own worst page through it, not the demo site. Vendor demos are chosen to flatter the tool.
Does price indicate quality here?
Not reliably. The output is checkable β look at the exported markup and the responsive behaviour rather than at the pricing tier.
What if I need more than a tool?
If your problem is positioning or content strategy rather than presentation, no tool in this category addresses it. That's an agency or a consultant question.
Apply those four questions here first, then apply them to whatever you're comparing us with.
